Over the last several days I have finished trimming the lower cowl sections and temporarily attached them together with screws. I then removed the upper and lower cowling sections and removed the plug on the propeller shaft.
The moment of truth was after putting the cowling back on the desired gap between the nose cowling and spinner was in fact there.
Although there are plenty of little details to complete before I can check off the engine cowling as being complete, it is gratifying to know this "milestone" has been reached.
