After letting the resin cure, I removed the fiberglass from the aircraft and cut it down to final size with a 2" vertical leg and a 1" horizontal leg; I made sure to leave enough material at the door post areas to pick up the lowest fastener common to the windshield itself.
There are a number of imperfections I'll need to sand out and a couple of areas did not sit completely flat but the beauty of fiberglass is these types of problems are easily fixed.
After all the cosmetic work is complete, I will layout and drill the attachment fasteners. I made this retainer from 10 layers of fiberglass to provide sufficient material thickness to countersink my attachment fasteners.
