Brief Description:  Rivet aileron stiffners and spar reinforcement pla

It's a beautiful Saturday morning outside. Temperatures still around 70. I started the morning by riveting the left aileron. Last night I I made a slight adjustment on the dimpling tool. Instead of having the dimpling dies touching each other at full stroke I left a ever so slight a gap so that the skin did not compress as much. The rivet sat very flush so I dimpled all this way. When I riveted the parts together, I noticed that the area around the rivet seemed flatter and less of a slight distortion which I've seen on other parts. Even on other parts mentioned this is a only light reflected illusion and when painted this is not at all noticed. I'll try this out one day on a scrap part and prime or paint the top surface.

Today, I also riveted all the rivet locations I could at this point. I c'sunk the holes for the nutplates that go on the inboard end but will rivet these in later. I am missing one of the nutplates so I'll have to order from Aircraft Spruce .

I spent the rest of the afternoon replacing fence boards on my wife's riding ring. I did the fencing for the 200 x 150 riding ring about 8 years ago and the sun has dried and warped many of the boards. Not a big job but I would rather be working on airplanes.

I also missed seeing my oldest daughter competing at a big horse show at the old Olympic horse park in Conyers, GA. Maybe I'll go and see her on Sunday.
