Brief Description: Cut hole in wing skin for pitot mast
This is last day to work on project until end of next week. I'm travelling to France on business. I'll be back Sunday evening Feb 14...that's right just in time for the end of Valentine’s Day. Louise was not too pleased with my travel plans.
I decided to cut the opening out in the bottom left wing for the Pitot tube mast. I located just a bit past the rib next to the access opening so that I would have enough room for the plumbing and the electrical. I haven't decided on the Pitot tube yet but I will probably end up with heated one from Dynon with AOA feature. I first marked a vertical line perpendicular to forward skin edge and laid out and the template that came with the mast from SafeAir. I drilled two starter holes at each end of the airfoil shape and then used my jig saw with a metal blade to cut on the marked line. I finished the profile with a fine file and some smoothed everything at the end with scotch brite.
