Brief Description:  Practiced riveting

Practiced riveting and also removing rivets on an scrap part. I ordered a rivet removal tool from Avery Tools. This works great on solid rivets but does not work on flush rivets. I came up with a way to do this a home made simple jig to remove flush rivets as shown below. I will eventually make a better system but even this make shift one works very well. I drilled a #40 hole in a scrap part I had from Starduster Too project (small center hole). I placed two sided tape on the back side. I mark the center of the rivet with a marker and then line up the hole over the center of the rivet using the mark on the rivet as a guide. Then I drill the head with no danger of sliding off center and hitting the skin. Works every time.
