Brief Description:  Worked on Rudder stiffners

As I said earliar, I don't like using the scotch brite wheel. Maybe I'm not using it correctly so I will research this sometime soon. For now I prefer to use the vixen file for rough cut followed by a finer file and/or scrotch brite pads. With parts like stiffners it is diificult to pass vixen file over part but it is much easier to draw the part over the vixen file. To aid in this process, I fabricated a simple jig to hold the vixen file steady. The way I did this is to start with a pc of hardwood I had...birch I think, and sliced a thin piece out of it just a little thinner than the thickness of the file. Then I marked the outline of the vixen file on the thin piece and cut out the outline of the file on my Skill band saw. I clamp the whole assembly to the workbench. This set up works great and requires very little time to clean the edges of the stiffners.
