Brief Description:  Leading edge and fuel tank work

Started the night by drilling the W423 joint plate screw holes to #19 with the fuel tank still clecoed to the wing.

I then drilled the RW leading edge skins except for the inboard rib and W423 joint plate which needed to be replaced. I should get the replacement rib and joint plate material next week. When I mentioned this to Steve Ashby, he said he made the same goof. That makes me feel a whole lot better knowing I'm not the only one...right! Wrong, I was still upset. I knew I should have checked progress as I was drilling but instead, I drilled all joint plate/rib holes before checking if everything was perfect. The holes wondered off the rib flange centreline and at the nose end, they were almost off the flange.

I then c'sunk the remaining tank screw holes for the #8 screws that will be used to secure the tank to the tank baffle.

I wanted to fit the tank outboard rib but in order to do that I had to first remove the tank, then remove the leading edge, and then re install the tank.

Then I reinstalled the leading edge to check that the W423 joint plate fit was good...and it was.
That's it for tonight
