Brief Description: More work on center section bulkhead
Today I primed the cover support rib s, control column mount; spacers bolt spacers between spars, & web stiffeners. I also prepped and primed the 4130 steel tail wheel parts to protect them against corrosion since I will not be getting to theses parts for a while.
I riveted all the nutplates to spar web flange and cover support ribs. I also riveted the 4 centre section side uprights to the spar web.
In Image 2, the 4 large holes and the 4 smaller ones at the top and bottom of the spar ends are for bolting the wings to the centre section spars using close tolerance bolts. The main wing spar and the fuselage centre section spars were match drilled by the manufacturer and holes are burnished for precise alignment. Before match drilling and riveting the side uprights, I temporarily installed the close tolerance bolts to maintain perfect alignment. It will not be easy to attach the wings to fuselage and may have to put these bolts in the freezer to get them to install with relative ease.
