I recently bought a few parts from Anti Splat Aero (ASA), including the "Almost an RV-14 Seat Mod" kit. This kit contains parts to replace the seat back support with one that allows the seats to recline a bit further, giving more space between pilot and instrument panel.
The instructional video on the ASA website makes it look very easy to install. "Just drill out these few rivets, do this, do that, and all done". Um, drilling out the rivets that hold the original seat support in place is very difficult. I ended up cutting the support out using a hacksaw so I could get better access the the ends where the rivets are. I still then made a mess of several holes due to limited access with the drill.
I spent six hours today and I'm about 75% done with this modification. Will try to get it finished tomorrow.
