The Horis GPS receiver needs to be stuck to the top of the glareshield with high-strength double-sided tape, however I didn't want to just stick it down to the painted surface as I'm pretty sure it will just pull the paint away.
Instead I made a little mounting pad, as per the first picture below, and rivetted it to the top of the glareshield. I painted the edges matt black, and left the centre section bare where the double-sided tape goes.
It works really well, and the receiver is stuck in place very securely.
