Brief Description: 1: Fuel Valve Cover & Other Tasks
I'm in a bit of a "go-slow" period at the moment. I ordered a couple fluid fittings from Aircraft Spruce about five weeks ago, and they still haven't arrived. Seems they're stuck in customs.
I need these fittings so I can finish off the brake lines inside the cockpit - which is the last job to do before I can fit the front top skin - which needs to be in place so I can fit the canopy roll bar - which needs to be bolted in before I start work on the sliding canopy frame.
Anyway, while I'm waiting for the fluid fittings to arrive, I worked on a few other small jobs, just to keep the clock ticking over.
1: I fitted the fuel selector valve cover which I modified and re-painted yesterday. It's now much better on my right knee. I'll probably end up fitting a pen and/or torch holder to the angled lip, but this can wait until later.
2: I had a good look at where I've run the headphone and microphone cables through the sub-panel. I've never been real happy with this, so today I got a small needle file onto the openings and smoothed and enlraged the holes (second picture below).
3: The passenger side joystick needed a couple screws fitted, one at the top to hold the headpiece on (third picture below), on one at the bottom to hold the actual joystick into the control linkage. Both are now done.
