I thought it was now about time that I started assembling the front deck. For now everything is cleco'd in place, but when I return (am heading away for a few days) then I'll rivet it all together for good.
With the framework assembled I spent quite a bit of time pondering mounting locations for all the equipment that needs to hide up in this space. I want to keep as much as I can on the sub-panel immediately behind the main instrument panel if I can. That way I can gain easy access by taking out one, or both, of the Skyview displays, without the need to be laying on the floor and working up under the panel. I'm too old for that shit!
I'm also considering a mounting tray further forward (towards the firewall), but with a hinge arrangement so it can swing down for easier access. I'd just need to be careful how I arranged the wiring. I'll give it some more thought.
