Tonight I finished off my flap position sensor, and am very happy with how it turned out. The photos show exactly how my design works.
I made provision for a second position sensor as I'm going to dedicate one for flap indication on a LED indicator and Skyview, and another for flap position input to my Angle of Attack system. During the week I'll order another RP4 LED indicator and POS-12 sensor from Ray Allen Company.
The pair of attach points on the flap actuator arm are mounted to a couple 1" adel clamps. This then allows the whole assembly to be positioned at just the right spot along the actuator arm to give a tad less than full travel on the POS-12 sensor. Full travel on the sensor is 30mm, so I positioned my bracket to give 27mm travel.
Once I was happy with the mounting of the sensor then I made up a simple control panel so that I could properly test it. I works very well, and I love the new design RP4 indicator from Ray Allen.
