Brief Description:  Fresh Air Vents

Not feeling particularly well today, very tired, so kept it low key in the workshop as a result. I got both fresh air vents installed, which wasn't very hard. I measured and drilled eight rivet holes in the plastic fittings - no plans, just drilled holes where it seemed right.

I then held the vent scoops in place, being careful to align as best as I could with the pre-punched cutout in the fuselage sides, and match drilled the holes into the fuselage skin.

I dimpled the holes in the skin, and countersunk in the plastic vent scoops. For now they are simply cleco'd in place while I wait for some more tank sealant. I'll also make up some little aluminium "washers" so that the shop formed rivet heads don't pull through the plastic.

Another job I've been putting off is making up a new stiffener for the small fuselage skin section at the top right of the baggage area. I cut the original stiffener too short, so ordered a new one from Vans some time ago.

Today I cut the stiffener to match the one on the other side (which fits quite well), then cleco'd the skin section in place. I started match drilling the new stiffener to the skin, but tiredness got the better of me, so I called it quits before I messed something up.
