Just an hour tonight after work to fix the little problem I'd created yesterday with the right seat back. When riveting on the length of hinge that holds the adjustable support bracket, I placed the two end rivets first. This created a horrible bow in the hinge, despite the fact that it was all nice and flat when clecoed into place.
Anyway, tonight I drilled out one of the end rivets, then riveted all holes starting from one side. Job done, with no enlarged holes...which is really weird.
Also tonight I unpacked my delivery from Duckworks USA. I ordered a simple kit from them to enable installation of landing lights in the leading edge. Two reasons for this: 1) the RV-9 wing profile doesn't lend itself so well to installation of landing lights at the wing tips (which is a good spot for an RV-7 or 8), and 2) landing lights in the leading edge will work much better as night time taxi lights.
My wings are all tucked away in their cradle, so I'll install the landing lights down the track a bit once I've gone as far as I can go with the fueslage.
I problem I left myself with at end of yesterday's work on the seat backs
All fixed. Both seat backs now finished
My leading edge landing light mounting kit arrived today from Duckworks
