With all the floor pieces fixed into position the next task was to make up the little cockpit tunnel cover. The pieces for this need to be made from scratch, so took a while....but was fun.
I marked and cut out the side pieces first, being very careful when drilling the mounting holes. The outside side walls of these pieces need to be exactly in line with the inboard edges of the floor pieces. If not then the cover will not fit properly.
With the side pieces made, I screwed them down onto the floor and then made up the top cover to suit.
Once all parts were deburred, smoothed, alodined and primed, I riveted the cover onto the side pieces. It came out pretty well.
I finished the day off by making a start on the two seat backs. My goal for tomorrow will to have these well advanced, if not finished.
