With the baggage compartment floor done yesterday, next step is to move on to the cockpit floor. The pieces were already prepared as part of the Quickbuild kit, so just a matter of matchdrilling, deburring and riveting into place. No problems with this, just time consuming.
I was thinking of installing some avionics components under the seats, however after realising that the under-seat floor sections are riveted in place, and not readily removable, then I figure that placing anything here would not be a good idea. The forward floor sections, which cover the aileron/elevator control rods, are removable, so I think I'll fit my transponder and comm antenna's in this space, just behind the main spar. They'll hang down under the belly of the plane (as per Dynon instructions).
