Another scorcher of a day here in the outback, so the work pace was somewhat subdued. I did manage to get the riveting on both steps finished this morning, which then allowed me to move onto fitting the baggage compartment floor and side covers.
No real dramas with any of this, however the baggage compartment tunnel cover did prove to be much more difficult than it should have been. The pre-drilled holes did not line up with the nutplates underneath. The cover needed to be about 1/16" further to the aft, but it was hard up against the bulkhead.
I slipped the flange end of the cover behind the baggage compartment bulkhead (it's meant to just sit in front), which gained me a little, but not enough. I then had no alternative but to elongate the holes in the cover a little....... all good.
Both "shin hazards" are now complete
