In between alodining and priming I also got a few other tasks done today.
I installed both fuel breather line bulkhead fittings in the forward cockpit area. This had me confused for quite a while as the Vans Quickbuilders rivetted the pilot hole where the bulkhead fitting needed to go. I studied the drawings for a long time before deciding that I needed to drill out a perfectly good rivet so I could enlarge the hole to accept the fitting. Done now.
I also completed the two half built brackets that attach the seat back support rib to the longerons, one each side. Just needed to cut away a portion of the bracket as per instructions for a sliding canopy, and then match drill holes to the seat back rib and longerons. All done.
Finally, I got a start on the elevator bellcrank. Smoothed all parts, match drilled, deburred and alodined. Will prime and assemble tomorrow.
