Brief Description: 2: Rudder Pedal Assembly Install
|
|
After fitting the brake pedals to the rudder pedal assembly, I then installed the whole lot into the cockpit.
I first marked and drilled the maximum forward position. Even though I'm pretty sure that my long legs will dictate that this is the only position I'll need, I thought I may as well drill a few more positions anyway, while it's still easy to do so. I drilled two further mounting locations, 2" and 4" back.
With these holes done I then prepared the centre support bracket. First it needed part of the flange cut away so it clears the firewall recess box. Then I made up the split mounting block and, with the top half in place, I could drill the rivet holes that fix the support bracket to the firewall angle.
I finished the support bracket by cutting three lightening holes, fitted a couple snap-in bushes for the brake lines, and then deburred, smoothed, alodined and primed. Once dried I bolted/cleco'd in place.
