Brief Description: 1: Fuselage Bits'n Pieces
|
|
Various small bits'n pieces today as I slowly worked my way through the slow-build instructions. Very painstaking, but at least it forces me to understand every part of the build.
The plans give options for wiring holes at the bottom of each fuselage bulkhead, and since I'll have quite a bit of wiring to run, I thought it prudent to drill the holes. First up however I cut myself a set of plywood floor panels so that I had something to lay on inside the fuselage.
The holes were not tricky, just awkward to get to. I used a stepped reamer to make the 5/8" holes, which leaves a nice neat finish. Heaps better than a holesaw. The holes just needed a bit of a deburr, then a quick squirt of primer to protect the raw edges.
Another job done today was installation of nutplates to the centre floor ribs that run between the two seats.
Doesn't look a lot, but carefully reading through the instructions, and verifying everything on the plane, is the part that takes most of the time.
