Brief Description:  2: Magneto Wiring

Another job I got done today was the magneto wiring at the back of the ignition switch.

I did some research, and note that there are some schools of thought that suggest wiring the shield at both ends. Apparently it's considered a safer method in the event of broken ground wire, although having studied the drawings for some time this morning, I'm not convinced.

I have decided to keep it simple and connect the shield at the magneto-end only. From my first picture below you can see that I've left long tails on the two shield wires at the ignition switch and tucked them away under some red heatshrink on their respective wires. This way if I ever need to connect the sheilds then I still can with minimal trouble.

After completing the magneto wires then I also added the two speed sensor wires that provide rpm inputs back to the Skyview EMS. These both needed a 30k-ohm resistor soldered inline to keep input voltages low at the EMS. The resistors are under the long piece of red heatshrink.
