I had a small dilemna with how to go about configuring my nav/strobe light switch. I bought a 3-position switch (ON-OFF-ON) for this, however could only get a single pole.
I want the switch to operate such that in one ON position just the strobe lights are on, and in the other ON position both the strobe and nav lights are on. Of course the centre OFF position is off.
With a double pole switch this is very simple to configure, however with a single pole then I had to use a signal diode in circuit as shown in my first picture below. I haven't been able to test this yet, so it's still theory only.
I soldered the diode in place in the wiring loom and covered in heatshrink tubing.
