Another item that arrived in the mail recently was a nice new instrument panel punch. Even though I only have two instrument holes in my panel, I still want them to look great, so I bought this tool from Aircraft Tool Supply just for the job. It sure does make a nice clean hole.
I also bought a drilling template so as to get the screw holes perfectly aligned as well.
After first making a 2-1/4" hole in a piece of scrap, I then set about punching the hole for my magnetic compass. It came up really neat.
I then cut a 3-1/8" hole in the space between where my two Skyviews will be mounted, for the back-up Horis PFD.
