Brief Description:  Audio Mixer and AoA Switch Panel

What better way to spend Australia Day than by putting in some time on my aeroplane. Talk about livin' the dream!

A few more goodies from Aircraft Spruce turned up over the past few days, including my little Flight Data Systems audio mixer. This little box will take audio warning signals from my AoA system, stall warning switch and carbon monoxide monitor, and allow them all to play on the single, non-muting input on the Dynon intercom. Today I mounted it to the special drop-down equipment tray that I made especially for it.

Also today I finished off my sliding bracket idea for the AoA switch panel. This tiny little switch box is only needed for setup of the AoA system, so I didn't want it taking up premium space on the instrument panel. Instead I made up a sliding bracket that screws to the underside of the panel, in front of the passenger seat. When needed, you slide it forward so that it sits flush with the panel, when not needed, it slides back under the panel, and out of the way. It's held firmly in position with a single knurled screw, easily tightened/loosened by hand.

A nice side effect of this bracket is that it makes the instrument panel a lot more rigid.
