With the painting done I then started to reassemble the empennage completely. I started by reattaching the trim tab to the left elevator, then fitting the elevators to the horizontal stabiliser.
While fitting the elevator control horn bolts I realised this is a job much easier done if the vertical stabliser is not in place. I'll see how I go, but maybe tomorrow I'll need to take the VS off again.
I also noted that I may have to rethink my strategy for the horizontal stabliser tips. I was happy with how they attached and wasn't going to go to the trouble of applying resin and smoothing them off, but now that they've been painted I think I'll need to. They're okay, but could look a lot better with some resin/flox and a little fibreglass to smooth out the join.
