Brief Description:  1: Vertical Stabiliser Alignment

Good to get back into the workshop again after a couple weeks away. I've got two weeks annual leave now, so am aiming for some significant progress.

Today I sanded smooth the resin I applied at the vertical stabiliser tip, then I assembled the stabiliser and rudder to check for interferance .... and there was some. The extra build up of resin on the stabiliser tip caused the rudder to jam as it swung back and forth.

I took it all apart again and sanded some more, then reassembled and all good.

While I had it together again (potentially the last time before final assembly) I also toyed with the idea of adding the McBain family tartan and crest to the vertical stabiliser. The bottom photo shows my thinking. A tartan stripe across the top, and the family crest on each side of the stabiliser.
