Brief Description:  2: Elevator Control Rods

Another job underway today was building the two elevator control rods. I marked out the rivet hole positions on each and then alodined the ends. The whole thing is going to be coated in primer, inside and out, however I see no harm in a little extra corrosion protection where it's most likely to attack.

I drilled all the holes, then riveted one end of each control rod in place. Next I mixed up some acid etch primer and poured inside each tube and "swished it all around". This gave a nice thick coating to the inside of each control rod.

I'll leave them to dry properly before riveting the other end pieces in place.
