After some time away from the shed it was good to get back today and get a little more done on the empennage. My parents are in Roxby for the weekend so I put Bruce to work helping with attachment of the two elevators. I'd previously tried doing this by myself, but quickly worked out it's impossible without a second person.
We hung both elevators and I was very impressed with the free, precise movement of both. I also checked the amount of travel, up and down, with a digital inclinometer and found I have around 5-10 degrees extra travel than required in both directions, so all good on that front as well.
Both elevators fitted up to the horizontal stabiliser
These bolts are a little difficult to get in. Definitely a two man job
