As mentioned a couple days ago, I had a little trouble with the foam trim tab stiffeners...........I stuffed one! Well today I was in the local Mitre 10 hardware store and I had an idea. How about I make a new one out of a cork sanding block. So this is what I did.
I cut the cork block to the desired thickness on my table saw, then set about cutting and shaping the new stiffener on my bandsaw and belt sander, being more careful this time.
The cork piece is 5oz heavier than the foam one, however I can't see this making any difference to the trim tab operation, so I'm gonna run with it.
