Brief Description: Elevator Stiffeners and Spar

With my brother Steve in town with his family, for an easter weekend visit, I took the opportunity to put an extra set of hands to use and got some very difficult riveting tasks done.
First up we back-riveted all the left elevator top stiffeners in place, with me on the rivet gun and Steve holding the skins apart.
Then we moved on to the right elevator and did the very awkward task of riveting the spar onto the top skin. I started this a week or so ago and figured that it is pretty much impossible to do by yourself. With the bottom skin clamped down to the workbench, Steve manning the bucking bar, and me on the rivet gun, then it was much, much easier. We had to go back and give a few rivets an extra hit, but in the end the results turned out very good.
To finish the afternoon off we then riveted all the right elevator top skin stiffeners in place. Not impossible by yourself, but definitely much easier, and quicker, with a second set of hands.
