Another big day in the workshop today, however when I say that I match-drilled the stiffeners to the elevator skins, then disassembled and dimpled all the holes, then it doesn't sound much. It's just there is a LOT of holes.
Holding the elevator skins apart proved to be somewhat difficult. While match-drilling I used a few pieces of smooth soft timber inserted along the trailing edge (see the first picture below), then when dimpling the skins I just had to physically pull the two halves apart enough to get them into the DRDT-2 frame. This wasn't particularly hard to do, I just felt that at any minute I was going to crease a skin, rendering it useless. Riveting the stiffeners in place is going to be interesting.
