Like several thousand RV builders before me, I finally took the drastic, yet exciting, step of hitting the send button on my first order with Vans. After two months of deliberations and cost evaluations I ended up deciding upon the RV-9A and today ordered the empennage kit with electric elevator trim.
Although I expect I'll change my mind a hundred times on numerous things over the next few years, I am initially thinking I'll go with a 160hp Lycoming O-320 and Sensenich fixed pitch prop, mainly for simplicity and low running costs. Let's see how that pans out, hey.
Now the long wait, so I guess the next few weeks is a good time to get started on my workshop space, and read up on good mate Peter Harkness' RV-7A builders log.....am following in your footsteps mate.
