Brief Description:  Scat Tube Clamp Brackets

Am moving house at the moment, so work in the shed is very sporadic as I pack and clean ready for exit day. Nonetheless, I did get a little bit more done this afternoon, despite the 40C heat.

There are a number of tubes, wires, ducts that route around the engine bay, all of which must be securely held in place somehow. The plans show a neat idea for the cabin heat scat tube whereby you use one DG12 cusion clamp around the engine mount frame, and with a small angle bracket you attach another larger clamp for the scat tube. The pictures below show how.

I made up a few of these angle brackets today.

I also spent quite a bit of time working out how to attach my Milspec quarter-turn cowl fasteners. The standard design calls for a hinge strip to attach the cowls, but I'm going to install quarter-turn fasteners instead. I started laying out dimensions on some spare aluminium strip I have in my bundle of materials, but found that it is not wide enough, nor heavy enough, to accomodate the quarter-turn receptacles. I'll need to order some 2" wide x 0.050" aluminium strip.
