Rather than tackle the other side gear leg weldment today, I decided instead to finish off the park brake control. I've already made and fitted a bracket for the push-pull knob, but I also need another bracket to secure the control cable at the brake valve end.
I bent up a custom bracket that bolts to one of the firewall stiffeners, which took a bit of trial-and-error to get right. Once done I then deburred, alodined and painted, and then fitted a nutplate.
Installing was a little tricky, just because it's in a difficult spot to reach, but I got there.
The second picture (taken at a strange angle) shows the bracket installed and control cable fitted (after cutting to the right length).
Seems to work okay.
