Brief Description: 1: Gear Leg Weldment Bolt Holes
Aaaaarrhhh!! I need to pull the gear leg weldments out again!
While reading through some other builder logs on how they went about attaching the wings, I found a couple who commented that the holes in the gear leg weldments that take the wing spar bolts are slightly undersize, and the bolts would not go in.
I checked mine and, sure enough, they're undersize and need drilling out. There's no way you can do this with the weldments bolted in place, so out they must come.
I did one side this morning. Started at 9:30am, had it out, drilled, and back in just after 1:00pm. It's a bugger of a job. If only Vans had put a note about this in the instructions.
Having a break now before tackling the other side. Boy, I'm going to be sore tomorrow.

With the weldment removed I could then drill out the main spar bolt holes to correct size
