Some more work today on my fuel pump installation. I made up a couple pieces of aluminium angle for the fuel pump to mount to. The second picture below shows one in place. I had to make a couple notches for the brake lines. I simply riveted this directly to the underside of the tunnel cover.
I've left the second angle piece off for now as I've run out of nutplates. I bought US$250 worth of various small hardware items at AirVenture, and yet the K1000-08 nutplates I need today I do not have. Go figure.
After I'd gone as far as I could with the mounting brackets I then started on the tubing. After much trial and error I finally got the short piece made up that goes between the fuel selector valve and the fuel filter. The problem here is the tight bend radius required, and the lack of a straight section for the flaring tool to work. Anyway, I managed to "cheat" just enough on both my bending and flaring tools to get the desired result.
