Brief Description:  2: Brake Lines

I did some more on the brake lines today as well. Unfortunately I had to re-do my work from a couple weeks ago as I left myself in a position where one of my lines could not be flared at one end.

NOTE (Trap for Beginners): When planning your tubing layout, make sure that there is a straight section of at least 35mm (1-3/8") at each end so that you have enough room to use the flaring tool.

Anyway, even though I had some rework, it's actually turned out better than I'd previously done, so I'm happy with that.

With the brake line tubing from the firewall to the main spar brackets done, I then made up the two pieces that extend the lines out to the exit points at each of the main landing gear weldments.

I first drilled the holes through the fuselage to accept the bulkhead fluid fittings, and then made up the tubing sections. These pieces had to be "man handled" (bent) quite a bit to get them to fit through the holes in the main gear weldment and main spar bracket, but the tubing is soft, and easily bent back into shape once in position.

I'm quite peased with how this has turned out.

That's it for a while now. Tomorrow I pack for AirVenture 2018. Oshkosh, here I come!
