Brief Description:  1: Fitting the Aft Elevator Control Rod

A big day today fitting the elevator control rods. First I installed the larger, aft rod, which wasn't without a few little difficulties, although I would realise later in the day that this was relatively easy compared to what was to come.

I only bolted temporarily at the elevator horns as I know that this must be undone to remove the empennage later in my build. The other end however, at the bellcrank, I installed and torqued nuts and washers as per the drawings.

With the control rod in place, and in the neutral position, I noted that the servo arm was ahead of vertical quite significantly. Although it would work quite okay in this position, I decided to adjust the black servo linkage, making it longer, and thereby putting the servo arm much closer to vertical. The end result is that at full travel in either direction, the servo arm gets nowhere near the point where it could result in an over-travel situation.
