First up today I finished off assembly of the landing light mounting plate. It looks great painted up gloss white.
I was worried I was going to scratch it up while squeezing it into the wing through the cut-out, but I found if you hold your tongue to the left, then it just fits through nicely. I little jiggling around (the plate, not my tongue) and I got it screwed in without too much fuss.
Next step is to cut the perspex lens cover, so while I procrastinated over that I decided to pull in another wire as provision for taxi lights. At the moment I'm still undecided on the actual lights that I'd like to fit here. My favourite at the moment, but by far the most expensive, is a dual light that incorporates both landing lights and taxi lights, both able to be switched independantly.
With the extra wire already run, then this light will always be an option.
I also got to use my awesome Brady labeller again to identify the new wire :-).
