Did some rework on my ADAHRS mounting bracket today. I wasn't happy with the 12x12x3mm aluminium angle. It allowed a fair bit of flex, and made for some tight spacing of mounting hardware (difficult to get nuts onto the 5/32" mounting screws)..........so I replaced both pieces to 20x20x3mm.
I fabricated an oversized plate to go underneath the ADAHRS that serves to guide the Pitot, AoA and Static air lines.
And I also made up a couple of small stregnthening webs to be riveted between both angle pieces. Even with just cleco's, this assembly is now very rigid.
I finished this part off with the usual deburing, smoothing and alodining of parts.
Replacement angles, and ADAHRS "tray", both in place
One of the strengthening webs I made. Creates a very rigid assembly
