Brief Description: Basic Wiring Diagram - First Draft
|
|
Thought I'd start on a basic wiring diagram for my RV-9A tonight.....well....I guess I really started on this several months ago when I bought a copy of "Aircraft Wiring Guide", by Marc Ausman. A great book, very easy to understand, with heaps of practical advice.
Even though the book has an underlying marketing theme of "go with a Vertical Power VP-X system", I'm okay with that because, a) it's only a subtle push, and b) that's want I plan on installing anyway.
For the unititiated, the VP-X is an electronic circuit breaker box that hides up under the instrument panel. No requirement for circuit breakers on the panel. Everything is software driven. If an e-circuit breaker "trips", then it's reset through a dedicated page on the touch screen. Saves panel space, wiring, and is heaps cooler. Downside - much more expensive (of course)!
Anyway, tonight I mapped out my first draft basic wiring diagram based around the VP-X system. I'll start fleshing out some of the wiring detail for the sub-systems as I come to them, but for now this will give me the basis of developing a wire numbering protocol that I can build on as I progress.
