Brief Description: Fairing Elevator and Rudder Tips
Spent a few hours today continuing with fairing of the elevator and rudder tips. This is a very time consuming task, with multiple reiterations of mixing and appying resin, allowing to harden, then sanding.
I have quickly learnt that to make sanding easier then I need to add enough filler so that the resin mixture is the consistency of toothpaste. Any runnier than that and sanding becomes harder. The downside is it isn't as easy to apply.
After much sanding of one elevator I decided to give it a coat of primer, to see what the finished suface might look like. Hmmm, that sure shows all the blemishes. A little more filling and sanding is still needed.
