Brief Description:  Installed ELT coax, static line, elevator trim cab

I ran the ELT coax cable along the lower side of the upper longeron. I drilled some #40 holes in the longeron to accommodate small cable ties to hold the coax in place. At each cable tie I installed a 3/4" long piece of vinyl tubing that just fits around the coax. When the cable tie is snugged down the tubing provides excellent protection against chafing. I left a little slack in both ends of the coax to make servicing the ELT unit and the antenna easy.

The pictures show the coax temporarily installed. I will remove these tie wraps when riveting the aft upper skin (have to buck rivets in the upper longeron). Once the skin is riveted, I will install the permanent ties per image 3 below. I think it makes a neat installation.

I also partially installed the static line and the five conductor elevator trim cable shown in image 2 below. The cable tiies shown in the picture are temporary. They will be removed so the upper skin can be riveted. The static line and elevator trim cable will be run together beneath the upper longeron all the way forward to the instrumant panel. Permanent cable ties will be installed as shown in image 3. An appropriate diameter 3/4" long chafe protector will be installed with each cable tie.
