Began the morning with a trip to local stores, O'Reilly Auto Parts and Menard's, to purchase some additional primer and paint. I am trying to get most of the interior parts painted with the final color coat.
The task list of parts today included the front and rear seat backs, the front and rear floor panels, and the gear tower inspection plates. I had to clean up a few spots on the rear seat pan and spray a second coat. I sometimes get a slightly rough patch when painting. Don't know if it has something to do with the temp/humidity or perhaps the spray nozzle and/or pattern. Anyway, it is necessary sometimes to hit the spots with a scotchbrite pad and respray. What I really need is a paint booth and some professional equipment but that's not going to happen. The satin finish paint does help hide imperfections.
Meanwhile, Connie has completed the upholstery experiment. The picture below shows an example of what the interior panels might look like. The example is not perfectly sized but does give me the chance to check the color contrast and determine if I like the diamond pattern.
