Brief Description:  Painted aft upper fuselage skin & interior panels

I had a problem with the paint on the aft upper fuselage skin. This is the second time I have had an unexpected and unexplained paint anomaly. The first was with the clear coat on the instrument panel. This time it's the green interior paint. A friend suggested it might be the humidity but I have no clue. I think the real problem is that I am no painter. Anyway, the paint problem was that rather than being a smooth satin finish it was somewhat rough and "pebbly" in texture. So, first thing this morning I took a maroon scotchbrite pad to it and smoothed it out. I also used some water in the process similar to wet-sanding. Finally, after drying and wiping away any dust particles, I painted it again just like the first attempt. Thankfully, it turned out just fine so after curing it will be ready to rivet in place.

Since I was successful with the upper skin, I went ahead and painted most of the cockpit interior panels including the baggage compartment panels and forward upper bulkheads. They all turned out fine. Why didn't I have another paint problem? I have no clue. I do think the olive drab satin finish in the cockpit with khaki/beige leather seats and side panels is going to look good and be quite unique.
