Brief Description: Preparing to begin fuel & brake line installation
Today was dedicated to studying the plans and shop instructions for the fuel and brake system. It was immediately apparent that I need a fuel filter and boost pump to support an injected engine before I can begin cutting and fitting fuel lines. The plans cover an Air Flow system but after talking with another builder, I decided to do some more research before acquiring Van's components.
The installation instructions and general design of the fuel system in the RV-8 shop manual may not be perfectly compatible with the Electronics International fuel computer that will be in my instrument panel.
Since I want to install a parking brake it will be necessary to order a few items before moving too quickly on the brake system. I also need to replinish some general fastener hardware in the shop and order some miscellaneous items such as throttle quadrants (custom units from DJM Mfg), fuel gauges, static/pitot install kit, etc.
