Well, as of this evening all the drilling with the exception of three 1/4" holes that must be matched drilled from the inboard weldments through the wear plates is complete. I plan to make one more run to Lowes to pick up a new 1/4" bit (again, probably a DeWalt for hardened steel).
After getting all the major bolt holes completed I did a final check on the alignment and measurements between the fore and aft plumb bobs. I was actually expecting a little movement of the gear components resulting from the drilling but the measurements came out perfect. Both sides measured 165 and 3/4 inches.
As soon as the final 1/4" holes are complete it will be time to install the forward bottom skins. I am looking forward to completing the bottom skins so we can move on to mounting the tail surfaces.
