Brief Description:  Preparing fuselage parts for final assembly-part 1

Well, the monotonous shop tasks began today. I began by machine countersinking all the #30 holes in the lower longeron side webs common with the foreward side skins. The five #30 holes in the bottom web of the lower longerons were then machine countersunk.

The #30 holes in the right and left auxiliary longeron side webs common with the foreward side skins were then machine countersunk.

The #30 holes in the landing gear box plates common with the foreward side skins were machine countersunk.

The #40 holes in the left and right auxiliary longeron side webs common with the foreward side skins were machine countersunk.

The inboard side of the seat back support plates were machine countersunk for #30 flush rivets.

The #40 holes in the center section side plates were machine countersunk to accept the dimpled holes of the mid side skins.

The cockpit rail spacers (F-856-1) were machine countersunk as appropriate.

The #19 screw holes in the lower longeron side webs were machine countersunk as was the top web of the left auxiliary longeron for the fuel bracket. The #19 screw holes in the landing gear box plates were machine countersunk.

The inboard seat rib angles were machine countersunk for a -4 flush rivet to attach the F-805B floor support angles.

Finally, the five #30 holes in the tabs on the forward end of the aft lower longerons were machine countersunk to accept dimples.

This phase of the project takes considerable time to check and double check the fasteners and components to ensure the proper countersinking and dimpling is accomplished.
