Brief Description: Miscellaneous shop supplies
I ordered a few extra nutplates, washers, and snap bushings. In most cases, Van's supplies the needed fasteners plus a couple extras. However, occasionally a few extra pieces are handy so when I have a required order, I usually take the opportunity to pick up some miscellaneous items that might come in handy at a later date (optimizes shipping fees).
In this case, I needed a fresh supply of Proseal to finish my starboard fuel tank. The manual says you can build two complete tanks with a quart can. In my case, I had some left over from the first quart but not enough to finish the second tank and it was getting a little old (shelf life is suppose to be about nine months). I would have wasted less sealant by building my first tank in fewer shop sessions. I found tank fabrication to be stressful and tiring, so I scheduled more "rest" sessions than really necessary. In some cases, this resulted in discarding some leftover sealant.
